The Cyberspace Research Institute was launched in Feb 2012 at Shahid Beheshti University, one of the most important academic institutions in the country. This institute aims to cover different aspects of cyberspace through research, innovation and education.

The research institute's mission is to conduct fundamental, developmental, functional research and worldlevel quality education in cyberspace and train human resources in order to achieve a secure, managed, and efficient cyberspace with international standards. The main priorities of this mission are localizing the information and communications technology and also exploiting maximum capacities of this technology to increase the scientific, religious, cultural, and living standards levels of the Iranian people.
